Outdoor Roller Blinds Bali

PVC and woven outdoor fabric blinds for Bali terraces and pergolas. Wind-rated, weather-resistant.

Outdoor blinds protecting a Bali villa terrace from sun

Outdoor roller blinds in Bali serve two functions: rain and wind protection for terrace furniture and living areas, and solar control for west-facing terraces where afternoon sun from the Indian Ocean makes outdoor spaces unusable from 2pm onwards. PVC and woven outdoor fabric are the two material categories — PVC for maximum weather resistance, woven fabric where aesthetics are a higher priority. Both must be wind-rated for Bali conditions, and coastal installations — Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua — require marine-grade hardware that standard outdoor systems don't provide.

Outdoor Blind Options

PVC Strip Curtains

150–200mm overlapping clear or tinted PVC strips. Maximum weather resistance, handles Bali's heavy wet season rain effectively, UV stabilised and salt-air resistant. Most practical choice for covered terraces where maximum weather protection is the priority. Easy to clean, long service life in tropical conditions.

Woven Outdoor Fabric Blinds

UV-stabilised woven polyester on aluminium headrail. Better aesthetics than PVC — suitable for prominent terrace positions where the blind is a visual element of the space when deployed. Adequate for light to moderate rain; less effective than PVC for heavy wet season rainfall. Best for sheltered terraces or properties where aesthetics are weighted over maximum weather protection.

Track-Guide Systems

Aluminium side channels that the blind fabric slides within — prevents billowing in wind and provides a more complete weather seal along the sides. Essential for exposed locations. Available for both manual roll-up and motorised systems. Wind-rated guide systems allow outdoor blinds to function in the afternoon sea breezes common on Uluwatu clifftop and Jimbaran beachfront locations.

Marine-Grade Hardware

Stainless steel and anodised aluminium hardware for coastal installations where standard aluminium and zinc hardware corrodes visibly within 12–18 months. Coastal areas in Bali — Jimbaran, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua, Seminyak near the beach — require marine-grade specification for outdoor installations. The hardware cost difference is modest; the service life difference is 3–4 years versus 1–2 years.

What Outdoor Blinds Solve in a Bali Villa

A Bali terrace, bale or pergola is meant to be the best room in the house — until the wet-season rain blows in sideways or the west sun turns it into an oven by mid-afternoon. Outdoor blinds reclaim that space on both counts. In the rainy season, PVC strip curtains and track-guided fabric keep furniture, cushions and dining areas dry while still letting you sit out and watch the storm. In the dry season they cut the harsh glare and radiant heat off west-facing terraces in Jimbaran, Uluwatu and Seminyak, so the space stays usable from lunchtime onwards instead of being abandoned until sunset.

They also add privacy and a wind break for clifftop and beachfront properties, and they protect timber decking and rattan furniture from the UV that ages outdoor materials so quickly here. Because they roll completely out of the way, you keep the open, airy feel of an indoor-outdoor Balinese villa whenever the weather is kind.

How We Measure & Install

  1. Free site visit

We assess the opening, exposure (covered, semi-exposed or fully exposed), prevailing wind and whether the location is coastal. This determines material, guide system and hardware grade.

  2. Specification & quote

PVC versus woven fabric, track-guide versus open roll, manual versus motorised, and standard versus marine-grade hardware — all priced clearly per opening.

  3. Fabrication & fitting

Made to your exact opening size, then installed on secure fixings with wind-rated guides where needed. Motorised outdoor systems are configured and weather-sealed before handover.

FAQ

How long do outdoor blinds last in Bali's conditions?

PVC strip curtains: 5–8 years with standard UV exposure. Woven outdoor fabric: 4–6 years before UV degradation becomes visible. Hardware (brackets, headrail) on non-coastal installations: 8–12 years with standard aluminium. Coastal installations with marine-grade hardware: comparable to non-coastal. The main degradation factor is UV intensity — Bali's equatorial sun is significantly stronger than most manufacturers' test conditions.

Do you supply motorised outdoor blinds in Bali?

Yes — outdoor roller blinds with motorisation are available. We use IP55-rated outdoor motors suitable for covered terrace installations where the motor is protected from direct rain. For fully exposed locations we recommend IP67-rated motors. Motor housing ventilation is important in Bali's humidity — we specify the correct motor rating for each outdoor installation.

How much do outdoor blinds cost in Bali?

From around IDR 700,000 per metre for PVC and IDR 800,000 per metre for woven outdoor fabric, supply and install. Track-guide systems and marine-grade hardware add to this — see the pricing page and the free site visit for exact figures.
